Disney Entertainment Studios segment encompasses global entertainment media and content, including streaming. The Disney Entertainment Brand Digital Marketing team oversees social programming development, strategy, planning, publishing, and operations for @Disney, @DisneyPlus (domestic and international), @MickeyMouse, @MinnieMouse, @TheMuppets,  @DisneyPrincesses and Disney.com across digital and social platforms. Responsibilities include brand platform development, content creation, event strategies, digital brand marketing, corporate social responsibility amplification, studio title marketing campaign integration, and cross-line-of-business support.

Responsibilities:

In partnership with the VP, this Sr Manager will work to develop and maintain global digital strategy for YouTube and handle macro level channel programming strategy in collaboration with Creative &  Brand Digital Leads.

  • Digital Strategy
    • Develop overarching digital campaigns, macro-level strategies by brand, content volumes, creative themes, rollout strategies, and calendar prioritization in collaboration with Corporate Brand counterpart
    • Develop and lead digital campaigns on behalf of the service and partner with wider Brand & Editorial team on key beats and priorities for Disney, Disney+, the Disney Bundle, and Franchise
    • Collaborate on calendar planning with Brand & Title counterparts  to ensure windowing alignment across the org
    • Strategic partner for Creative & Publishing as well as Content Production teams with in Studios and XLOB
    • Represent the Global YouTube initiative as needed in senior executive stakeholder meetings
    • Partners with the Creative and respective Brand/Franchise VPs to ensure alignment with digital brand stewardship and creative priorities. Collaborates with global and XLOB partners as needed
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams across Disney Entertainment, Global Marketing Strategy, Digital COE, and broader TWDC enterprise for campaign development and long lead planning that is aligned with Brand & Franchise priorities
    • Key collaborator with brand teams in putting together large-scale digital campaigns for Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel
    • Partner closely with analytics team to provide guidance on content and campaign pivots based on data and reporting
  • Programming
    • Provide weekly project status updates to VP and Corporate Brand
    • Oversees the management and updating of all team planning documents, strategies, presentations, and guidelines/process documents for global youtube
    • Oversees the distribution of YouTube documents to relevant stakeholders as directed by team leadership
    • Manages overarching programming calendars and communication, ensuring deadlines are met for internal and external partners
    • Accountable for team quarterly team planning meeting agendas and action items
    • Manages repository of cross functional team meeting agendas domestically and internationally, including action items and delivery dates
  • Team Development
    • Team Operations: Efficiently manage Social systems and operations, encompassing document management and rollout planning.
    • Cultural Focus: Foster a work culture that values inclusivity, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.
    • Team Leadership: Lead and guide a diverse team of approximately 2 professionals, ranging from experienced to early-career individuals, including people managers, and individual contributors.
    • Professional Development Workshops: participate and assist in quarterly planning and professional development workshops to enhance the skills and growth of the team.
    • Development Check-Ins: Initiate and maintain regular professional development check-ins with direct reports, addressing areas of growth set at the beginning of the year and holding monthly and mid-year progress assessments.
    • Resource Management: Maintain documentation of incremental workload and resource needs to proactively address bandwidth concerns. Provide real-time updates to the VP, Digital Marketing  to manage impact.
    • Project Team Support: Frame and contribute to project team meetings, establish agendas, and provide strategic recommendations to drive growth and address complex situations effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ relevant experience with digital marketing for brand and entertainment properties
  • BA or BS in Journalism, Film, Marketing, and/or relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience managing teams and the professional development of professionals
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, make business decisions, and change course of action quickly
  • Demonstrates ability to advise on agency, vendors and contracts as needed
  • Experience working across multiple mediums – social media, digital placements and websites
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Passionate about process
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects and within a highly matrixed organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure successful stakeholder interactions, strong working relations and the ability to interface with varied levels of management, senior peers and partners across varying teams
  • Highly collaborative sensibility with the ability to be open minded to feedback and always seeking out the best idea, not just their own idea
  • Knowledge of and ability to synthesize data and insights into actionable strategies and tactics
  • Work is performed with minimal direction, Participates in determining objectives of assignments. Plans, schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives and is able to seamless delegate work appropriately
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and oral.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google, Microsoft Office Suite and Keynote is preferred
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong working knowledge & emerging media and new technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others, both in a supervisory role and as a collaborative team player.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building, refining and optimizing systems or processes
  • Experience with streaming platform marketing
  • Global stakeholder management experience


The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $123,000 to $165,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
