You will partner with Engineering Services (ES), Subject Matter Experts (SME), and the Integrated Facility Planning (IFP) team to develop strategies for obsolete items in the Planned Technical Obsolescence (PTO) program. The candidate should have strong social skills, be able to get results, and collaborate with many technical and non-technical departments. The role includes identifying and tracking obsolete ride, show, and facility equipment in a regularly updated database. You don't need any technical knowledge of the various equipment, but a high level of understanding will be required to discuss and plan with partners.
You will report to the Manager-Project & Integrated Facility Planning (IFP) Support.
This is a Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement with an estimated end date of 10/4/2025.
What You Will Do
Partner with Engineering Services (ES), Subject Matter Experts (SME), and the Integrated Facility Planning (IFP) team to develop strategies for obsolete items in the Planned Technical Obsolescence (PTO) program.
Work with domain experts to identify short life cycle (<5 years) components and their affected locations, and then identify the replacement components and develop a bump-down strategy and timing.
Collect existing inventory information for Disneyland and coordinate with Walt Disney World and other global sites when necessary.
Develop and maintain a resort-wide PTO strategy for each equipment category.
Enhance inventory utilization between the east and west coasts.
Collaborate to develop a virtual and physical warehouse for PTO spare components.
Partner with the IFP team to provide feedback for PTO efforts that need to go through the IFP process.
Coordinate the PTO timing to work with the IFP cycle.
Coordinate with Facility Asset Management (FAM) and Engineering Services Integration (ESI) to capture and salvage the PTO components during the change-out process.
Manage equipment moving into and out of the PTO Warehouse.
Required Qualifications & Skills
1-2 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, planning, project execution, or project management.
Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
Strong communication, collaboration, organization, technical writing, analytical, and social skills.
Basic understanding of the process of design, manufacturing, and construction.
Basic knowledge of different engineering subject areas such as electrical, mechanical, audio/video, and controls.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Disneyland Parks and Resorts is highly desirable.
Flexible with schedule (possible 3rd shift or pre-opening work).
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of Maximo and Tririga databases.
Knowledge of DLR warehouse ordering processes.
Education
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field such as engineering, architecture, or construction management or equivalent experience in related fields.

Please note that the position will be in Anaheim California but report to leadership located in Florida.

The hiring range for this position in California is $77,100 to $103,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
